Travelport:
Travelport, a Seattle, WA travel software company owned by Cendant Corp, hired me in early 2003
as their sole Interaction Designer and usability representative. In my position, I was responsible for
the maintenance and ongoing improvement of the interface of the online application, including usability
and design, creation of graphics, design guidelines, Web style sheets and some HTML, as well as
localizing the interface into UK English, French, German, Spanish and Italian.
I handled multiple projects at a time, working with Product and Project Managers, as well as software
developers and other key stakeholders. The left and top navigation couldn't be changed, but I redesigned
the information within it towards current best practices-- "chunking" and prioritization of information,
consistency of information, toned-down color palette, improved hierarchical navigation without causing
major resource- and time-consuming code overhauls. This online application also includes a complex
back-end travel policy management system to allow travel managers enter complex logic.
