Dr Pepper/7Up:
Also in 1998, at Y&R in New York City, I was assigned to Dr Pepper / 7Up. I was the Art Director,
designer and digital illustrator on this Flash-based site, created to promote Dr Pepper's sponsorship
of college SEC and Big 12 games. The splash page featured an interactive trivia game which could
be played while waiting for the site to load.
For the "Rec Room" main screen, the user could navigate by clicking on objects in the room: the bowl
of popcorn led to a page featuring Dr Pepper recipes, the TV screen animated to show humorous
short clips of game highlights, the football linked to a microsite featuring "paper football," with
instructions for making a paper football, rules of play and a playing field to be downloaded and printed
out. The pennants linked to the SEC and Big 12 sites, respectively. Standard navigation appeared on
the left, as if written on the door. In addition, I created a standard animated ad banner, as well as
animated HTML page headers (above, bottom) based on LED scrolling displays.
For 7Up, I created their first online presence, including the digitally-drawn icons for their online store.
